This Halloween, Severn Trent Green Power plans to turn about 100,000 used pumpkins into renewable energy at its sites across the Midlands, Home Counties, South Wales, and the South West.Through a process called anaerobic digestion, the pumpkins will be broken down to create biogas, which can then be turned into clean energy. The leftover material, called digestate, will be used as fertiliser on local farms to help grow new crops.Andrew Simm, Operations Director at Severn Trent Green Power, said:..
